Yan Zhu
Yan Zhu received his Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2013. He received the Engineer degree (Diplôme d'Ingénieur) from ENSTA ParisTech in 2015. He is currently working towards his PhD degree in Photovoltaic Engineering with the University of New South Wales, Sydney.
He currently works on the characterization of silicon materials and silicon solar cells. He further develops the method of injection dependent lifetime spectroscopy and applies it to study various types of recombination active defects in silicon, such as metal impurities, crystallographic defects and several new defects only recently discovered. Meanwhile, he is also developing new characterization techniques based on photoluminescence imaging to investigate defects with non-uniform spatial distribution in silicon.
